I check out a lot of natural hair pages, as I am obsessed with hair care, since doing my hair is really not my forte (but I'm trying!)  I saw a picture of a beautiful young lady with an auburn afro, lightly blushed cheeks and red stained lips (hot right?)  I was amazed by some of the comments regarding her make up.  Granted not everyone wears or likes make up-to each her own.  But one lady asked "Are sisters really supposed to wear red lipstick?"  Absolutely yes!  Sisters of all hues can definitely wear red lipstick.  The trick is to make sure it is the right red for you.  Lip colors come in so many different textures now from sheer glosses, stains, mattes-there is so much to choose from.  I prefer a matte red lipstick for myself since I have full lips.  Mac Ruby Woo has been my go to red for years.  NYX has a really pretty liquid lip cream that dries to a matte finish.  For staying power, line and fill in your lips with a red pencil.  Bright colors tend to travel, and if wearing red you definitely want to look chic, not clownish.  : )  Play at the make up counter with the various shades and textures until you find the right red for you.  Many places like Sephora will give you samples of things if you want to try out something before you commit to it.  If you prefer to purchase cosmetics at a drug store, go to one with a good return policy.  That way if it doesn't work out, you can always take it back.
